SAMPLE RECIPES
GRANOLA
Ingredients:
6 cups Oatmeal
3/4 cup Wheat Germ
1 1/2 cups Oat Bran
1/2 cup Coconut
1 cup Chopped Nuts or Sunflower Seeds
1 cup Apple Sauce
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 cup Barley Malt or 1 tsp. Stevia (optional)
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients. Then mix rest of the ingredients and stir into dry ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 - 15 minutes. Add 1 1/2 cups Raisins when done.
Note: Slivered or sliced almonds are delicious in granola
SPINACH MASHED POTATOES
(Your children will love this spinach!)
Peel, cook, and mash:
6 - 8 large Potatoes
Add:
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 cup Butter
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. Chopped Chives
3/4 cup Sour Cream or Yogurt
4 oz. Cream Cheese
1 - 10 oz. pkg. Frozen Spinach, chopped, cooked, and well drained. (May blend it in a blender)
Add Milk if too stiff. Put in casserole dish.
Sprinkle with:
1 cup Cheddar Cheese
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
NOTE: Can be made a day ahead and baked just before serving at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 - 35 minutes. Can also be frozen. Serves 8 - 10.
