Pesto Tomato Dip Mix & Pasta Sauce
Summer's favorite flavors of basil and sunshine make this tasty dip delicious in any season. Add diced tomato and bacon for a BLT dip or to season pasta or vegetables with this splendid pesto mixture.
Ingredients:
Basil, oregano, garlic, lemon pepper (NO SALT)
Dip Mix Recipe Directions:
Pesto Dip:
Blend contents of packet into once cup sour cream mixed with one cup mayonnaise. Add 1 cup diced tomatoes (draining off excess juice).
BLT Pesto Dip:
Follow above directions. Cook and crumble 4 slices of bacon and add to mixture. Refrigerate 30 minutes or overnight before serving. Serve with pita chips or crackers.
Pesto Pasta:
Stir contents of packet into 1 cup melted butter. Toss with 8 ounces cooked pasta for a delightful side dish. Optional extras: add the diced tomatoes and/or bacon bits.
Herbed Whole Grain Bread:
Stir contents of packet into 1 cup melted butter. Spread between slices of wheat bread. Wrap loaf in foil and back 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Save extra butter mixture for other use. Melt with lemon juice and drizzle over vegetables or potatoes.
